16 Oct / A Hunting World NYC Adventure
“We live in a world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure.
There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”
– Jawaharial Nehru
After returning home from a holiday that already feels like a distant memory, my heart was still aching with a sense and need for adventure. While abroad, there was nothing I loved more than simply walking the streets, breathing in the unique architecture and everyday lives of the locals and cities I visited. Forget the tourist spots, this is what I had come here for!
Holidays and time away from the normality of life, has this ability to really knock our senses and put us in touch with what we truly want. It also helps us to pay attention to what is a-miss in our own lives back home. There was something about being completely immersed in these foreign places that filled me with a sense of calm and gratitude. Something I’ll admit has been tough for me to grasp lately. I began to really question what I was doing differently as I wanted this to continue long after the holiday had ended. And really the answer was so plain to see, I’m surprised I hadn’t realised it sooner!
So, Instead of rushing to book another escape, I decided to bring the adventure home with me. To make a promise to myself to be more present in the moment, to seek the beauty in my own city and take in what was right in front of me all along. Being grateful for every moment, place & person along the way! And more importantly finding the right balance; a balance between finding adventure through a phone screen, living a life online and actually living my life in the world in front of me.
The first thing I wanted to do when I got home was explore the area around Isaac’s apartment in St Kilda, Melbourne. He had moved in a few months prior, but with our busy schedules we had given ourselves little time to simply explore and get to know the area around us. It’s funny the things that you start to notice when you allow yourself to be completely present. The unique cafes, the artworks in the alleyways, even the beauty of the view from your own rooftop. All of those little things, that should be the big things in life!
Accompanying me on my local adventure was my new Hunting World NYC Mini Carryall. Completely fitting, Hunting World NYC was inspired by Robert M Lee’s love, passion and appreciation for adventure and nature. Functional in design, the Mini carryall is lightweight, durable and water resistant. Three aspects and marks of quality that I have truly began to appreciate, particularly after travelling and using bags that were in no way appropriate or would barely fit what I needed for the day.
Not sacrificing style for practically, Hunting World’s NYC design is modern and minimalistic. A versatile piece suited for an array of adventures and outfits.
